Farm Implements

An agricultural machinery manufacturer and wholesaler, Farm Implements is a second-generation Australian-owned and operated business. With headquarters in Pakenham Victoria, Farm Implements has a dealer network that covers Australia, New Zealand and the broader Oceania region.

Farm Implements was formed by a merger of manufacturers; Kanga Farm Equipment and importers; Caroni Implements and distributes some of the world’s leading and trusted brands including Kanga Farm Equipment, Cosmo Bully agricultural machines and Cosmo fertiliser spreaders.

Being a tractor implement specialist, Farm Implements offers a wide range of agricultural equipment including slashers and rotary cutters, flail mulchers, rotary hoes, power harrows, fertiliser spreaders, grader blades, cultivators and harrows, post-hole diggers, bale spikes, rakes, mixers and no-till seed drills.

“We pride ourselves on supplying high-quality products, designed for our farmers and their specific conditions. Our focus is on all things that are suited to the three-point linkage of a tractor,” Farm Implements general manager Tim Alcott says.

Kanga Farm Equipment

The ‘house brand’ of Farm Implements, Kanga Farm Equipment began manufacturing tractor implements in 1983. Products in the Kanga Farm Equipment range are developed keeping in mind the feedback received from dealers and end users over the past four decades.

“It is developed in Australia, for Australian conditions,” the company’s founding owner Bruce Alcott says. “The design, engineering and manufacturing of our Kanga Farm Equipment implements is controlled in-house, enabling us to continually develop and enhance our products.”

With the ability to manufacture in-house, Farm Implements has the capacity to customise products to suit their customer’s specific needs.

“Often they will ask for high-tensile skid runners and strengthening of wear areas, upgrades to cutter bars, modifications to discharge and blade rotation,” Bruce says.

“Each farmer has a different idea of what works in their specific applications and we have the ability to modify, customise and provide that end user with what they require.”

Cosmo Bully Agricultural Machines

Cosmo Bully began as a joint venture between Cosmo S.r.l. and the world’s largest manufacturer of rotary hoes who’s ambition is to provide quality farm machinery that makes agriculture more economical and efficient. While Cosmo’s European engineers are responsible for the design and engineering, Farm Implements plays an active role in assisting with product development.

“There’s European feedback coming into that product and we are part of that development team – testing product here, providing feedback,” Tim Alcott says. “The Cosmo Bully brand is a real collaboration to make sure that those implements that we offer under the Cosmo Bully brand are just as good as anything on the market but they are affordable tractor implements.

The products are manufactured using world-class technology and in accordance with the highest global standards. The purpose-built facility is over 28 acres in size with the capabilities of producing 100,000 units per annum.

“We are capitalising on the volume and buying power of the manufacturing facility. The money that they have invested to deliver the project in the past six or seven years has been very impressive. It’s a very exciting time for agriculture to see a company investing in tractor implements to produce quality products at the most affordable prices. We are very fortunate to be a part of the journey.”

As Farm Implements private brand for the Oceania region the Cosmo Bully range consists of mowers, flail mulchers, rotary hoes, power harrows and seed drills. The success of the product range continues to be measured by product reliability and unprecedented demand.

Cosmo Fertiliser Spreaders

Cosmo Srl is the largest manufacturer of fertiliser spreaders and milling machines in the world. Based in Italy, Cosmo uses some of the best modern technologies to produce over 25,000 trailed and linkage fertiliser spreaders annually. Farm Implements has been the Australian distributors of Cosmo since it was formed back in 1986 with Mr Paolino and Mr Alcott first meeting at the Eima International Agricultural and Machinery Exhibition in Bologna, Italy.

Cosmo has a range of fundamental beliefs and non-negotiables when it comes to its products. They use state-of-the-art technology and highly trained staff, in their own 12,000 sqm facility to produce the Cosmo products. Quality control is the core value of the company philosophy and for this reason 90% of the components are produced internally.

“It is evident that they are continuously looking to further develop their Italian-made products but also expanding their product offering in the Cosmo Bully brand as well,” Bruce Alcott says.

Cosmo S.r.l. still attends Eima, as does Mr Alcott, to proudly display the technology and quality it is capable of producing in its Italian manufacturing facility.
